With Vern's update out of the way I can now write what has been going on here at home. I last wrote about how Vern and I decided to try and conceive our second child. After Vern broke his ankle we got the bad new that I was not pregnant. We also decided to wait until Vern was able to go back to work and get a few checks coming in. To me this meant waiting another six months or so . I was quite disappointed with Vern and didn't try to hide it. After two months of taking care of not only my duties as a mom ans stay at home wife I also had to take care of Vern and is inability to do anything. During this time I developed severe pain in my pelvic region. I went to my OB.GYN. only to be given horrible news, my endometriosis had returned and that i needed to go back on birth control. My world came crashing down. I was devastated and all I could think of was how were we to have a baby now and if ever. When i passed on this information to Vern he took me by the hand and said "we'll have to try our asses off to get pregnant then." I've never been so proud of my husband as I did right then. With tears in my eyes we made plans of getting pregnant and fast. I did everything i knew of to help me be as fertile as possible. Vern even ate well to ensure fast strong swimmers. On December 7th we were blessed with the news of a little bean growing inside me. I was elated. So relived that god blessed us with a child only after trying for one month. Now it was the waiting game to see if this little miracle would stick. As I sit and write this i am 22 weeks along and growing a healthy baby boy. Caelan Vernon is due to meet us on Aug 7th. I spent my first trimester puking my guts out. I thought I was going puke the baby right out. Now I have my energy back my appetite back ten fold.
As for Alexis she gets bigger and smarter every day. She is a little singer and dancer. We have been trying to potty train with little success, but her colors, number, and shapes are coming along nicely. This summer we are going to put her in swim lessons and she has already made two new friends that she loves to play with. Starting September she will be in Preschool three times a week.

Vern's Update
It's been quite a while since I have made a post so as I sit here with nothing to do I figured now is as good time as any to write it all down.
Shortly after Vern went back to North Dakota in September of last year he was caught in an altercation with a few drunk guys that stay in the same hotel. With out going into too much detail a fight broke out and Vern was left to defend himself along side his roommate and brother. When Vern stumbled back after being hit in the face he rolled his ankle and broke the anterior fibula of his ankle, It was not a clean break. His brother and roommate took him to the hospital after they got the guys to back down. The hospital up there was not a very helpful place. They took x-rays and determined it was broken then sent him on his way with no pain meds. Vern had to suffer over the weekend until he was able to fly out the following Tuesday. I had already scheduled a Dr apt. for that day and took him straight there. The Dr confirmed the break and suggested he try a few exercises before he decided to do surgery. After that didn't work he scheduled Vern to have surgery on Sept 26th. The surgery went very well. The Dr determined that the reason the bones didn't go back together was a piece of protective layering that our bones have had wedged in-between the break. The Dr. placed one plate and six screws to hold the bone together. He does not need to take them out at any time but he did mention that skinny adults usually with become irritated and have them removed. After a month of no weight barring they put a cast on then for a month it was gradual weight barring then onto a boot with physical therapy. Vern was back to work at the end of December. Vern however did not go back up to ND. Instead he went to work for his fathers company Pure Energy over in Wyoming. Vern is classified as a Fraq Flow Back Operator. He has a set schedule of 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off. The benefits and advancement opportunities are much better. A few weeks ago we were able to buy a brand new Dodge Cummins for Vern. He loves it and It helps out tremendously at his new job. As for the beloved Tacoma we traded it in for the Dodge.

Oil Feild Update
Alexis and I just got home from visiting Vern for 4 weeks!!!! In this picture the Derek is being chained up the the Craine so they can take it off the trucks and put it in place so the "Ruffnecks" can put it up right and get it ready for drilling. That is Vern standing on top of it.
While In Williston we applied of a mortgage loan and found out we need to wait a few more months. Per North Dakota regulations we cant buy a trailer home like we had planned. As first time home buyers there a a few regulations that we have to comply with. With this news its looking like we wont be up there till around January. Its a little frustrating that we have more waiting to do. But when life gives you lemons... make lemonade!

Massive Snow Storm in Williston
Saturdays snow storm left the West side of North Dakota in mounds of snow and the biggest black out in history. Williston got the worst of it and Vern has been freezing his but off due to no heat. Power is still out and they have no idea when it will be turned back on. Hundreds of polls are down and the main power line is toast. Vern and his roommate ran a power cord from the truck to their second story hotel room just so they can charge there phones. I'm not sure what Mother Nature is up too but its way too cold for May!

Everyone seams to be worried.
I had a very long conversation with Vern today. We plan on getting a few bills paid off this May. Starting in June we will be applying for a home loan. We have decided to buy Casey's boss' house. Its a three bed two bath double wide mobile home. She is selling it for $115,000. If things go well and we get the ball rolling on the loan and closing Ali and I will be leaving Salt Lake around the first week of July. So all of you that are upset and angry that we are leaving you have about 2 months to get all your "spending time" in with Ali.
I want everyone to know that Vern and I took awhile to come up with this decision. Its in our family's best interest to be together where ever it may be. As of now that is in North Dakota. Its a 14 1/2 hr drive. Approximately 996 miles. Or its a $500 round trip flight. (Gas is about $490 round trip)
The up side to this is that Its going to be cheaper and easier for Ali and I to come visit everyone in Salt Lake rather then Vern take time off and come visit us. So please don't worry about never seeing Ali again or forgetting who you all are. We wont be gone long. 3-4 years is all.
I do plan on making a photo album for Alexis so that she can see every ones faces and know who they are. We also have Skype and its only $18 for a web cam at Walmart and Skype is free.
I love you all.

The Beggining of our new transtion
As you all may know Vern has been up in North Dakota for four months and is doing great. However, the 1000 miles between us is more then we can bare. In these next few weeks I will be getting rid of almost all of our possessions. Only keeping the important stuff... pots, pans, plates, the bed and Alexis' stuff. As of right now we are officially house hunting in North Dakota. In order to get Alexis and myself up there with Vern, we have to buy a house. There is absolutely no available rentals. Which is fine by me. I'd rather live in my own house. Think its about time anyway. When we move we need to take as little as possible. The smaller the Uhaul the better. Like I said before it is a 1000 mile drive.
During these next few years I want to keep a blog. Keep everyone updated on our progress to a better life for our children. Let everyone know how Vern does in work and how I cope with out my Friends and Family. Its going to be tuff but the important thing is that we'll be together. No matter where we go in life, as long as we have each other nothing can stop us! We hope for all your love and support in these next few years.
