Five Beautiful Months

Five months ago we were blessed with an angel from God!! Alexis has been the light of our lives! Today she is five months one week old. She sits and stands with assistance. She talks all the time Ahh Goo, Oooo, Ahhhh, Ahowa, an makes raspberry's and loves to stick out her tongue. She grabs toys, faces and loves her music making dog and bumble bee. She Sleeps through the night and has been eating solids since Christmas. Her favorite food is Pears. On Christmas day she rolled over from her tummy to her back three times. Today she lifts her chest up quite well and has begun to move her legs in crawling motion. She has yet figured out how to use her arms. She smiles at everything and is absolutely in love with boys. She talks and giggles with them more then anybody else. She makes us so happy. Everyone loves her so much!!! Today she is 14 pounds and 24 inches long. She wears nine month closes. Even though she doesn't fill them out her arms and legs fit them perfect.

We still live at Vern's moms house but have been saving money to pay off bills. we are half way there and by April we should be debt free. This coming May we are going to be moving to Grand Junction Colorado with Vern's dad. We are so excited to go and have this experience. We will have the opportunity to both go to school and work part time jobs while Grandpa Vern pays for the house.

We are so blessed in every way. Our family grows each day with love and compassion. We thank all of those who have helped us in these past 5 months.

The day is finally here

The morning of Aug 24th 2009 Little Alexis Marie decided to kick her way out into the world. My water Broke at 8:00 am. I quickly call Vern at work and told him the news. At first he didn't believe me, it took three times of telling him did he realize i was telling the truth.

It took him a half hour to get home. In the mean time I was in our bathroom sitting on the toilet letting all the amniotic fluid drain out. About ten minuets after my water had broke I started having very hard and painful contractions. I knew then that this was it, she was coming three in a half weeks early and there was nothing i could do about it.

Summer and Debbie helped me get things ready so that when Vern got home we would be able to leave right away.

The active labor contractions were tearfully painful. They kept getting worse with each one. We arrived at the hospital around 9:30am. After about 30 min of labor I was dilated to a 4 and 100% effaced. I was Prepped for an epidural and feeling no pain within 15 min.

Vern, His mom Debbie, his sister Summer, my mother, father, and sister were all in the room to watch the birth. Carissa video taped the whole thing and everyone else took pictures and enjoyed the very emotional and exciting event.

At 12:48 pm Alexis Marie Coggle was born and 5 lbs 8.5 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. She has My big blue eyes, nose, ears, and feet. She has Vern's lips, chin and torso.

She is the most beautiful and precious thing i have ever seen. I am so deeply and madly in love with her. Vern can't stop holding and kissing her. Who by the way had his mommy instincts kick in. He gave her her first bath without any hesitation and just got in there and got her all cleaned up. He's a pro. at changing her diaper. I didn't change one till late Monday night and it was only wet.

Vern and I are the happiest parents in the world and hope to share Alexis with everyone in a few weeks. Until then here are some pictures.

Worst Day of my Life

Two weeks ago we had a new roommate move in. She has a 9 month old pit bull and shes very cute, sweet and hyper. We sent Trey to out friends house to be babysat sill we are able to move out.

The Dogs name is Kya and she has trouble with going in the house. Me and Vern have been helping Tiffany (our roommate) with training her. Well on Wednesday the 17Th around nine at night I took Kya out for a walk to let her go potty. After she went she started getting very hyper and jumping around. Little did I know her collar was loose and she slipped right out. She began running back and forth on the grass in front of out complex. I had a horrible feeling she was going to run out into the street. So as i tried to get her to listen to me I was also watching for cars in the road. Well little Kya was having so much fun running away from me and jumping around in the dirty puddle next door I was getting very angry. Still trying to get her to listen and watch for cars at the same time she notices a man standing across the street. Yup you guessed it, she bolted into the street just as a little white car was driving by. I scream her name, but it was too late!!! She got hit. The driver was able to slow down just enough not to run her over. I scream and instinct takes over and I run to her aide. bad idea. She is so traumatized and in so much pain she's angry and bites down on my lest wrist. With pit bulls they have a locking jaw. I was not getting free till she let go. I did how ever try to pry her off using my right hand. Vern was just walking out of the house and heard Kya get hit and me scream. He came running yelling Kya's name. once she heard his voice she realized what she was doing and released my arm. She went into shock and layed limp on the street. I was going into shock myself. I was pouring blood from my arm. I felt sick and light headed. Vern grabbed Kya and started heading to the house. I followed. The driver was hysterical. He kept asking if we were OK and what he could do to help. We just ignored him and went into the house. Vern called the nearest Vet and I tried not to pass out. Tiffany tried to stay calm so she could help me. Two min later we were on our way to the vet. We dropped Kya and Tiffany off and headed to the hospital. This whole time the baby hadn't moved on bit. I was freaking out. We checked in and were put in a room in about 45 min.

Kya was not doing well. She had broke her front right leg and was having a very difficult time breathing. Tiffany didn't have the money to get Kya the help she needed so she decided to put her down. once she was gone Kya let out a lot of blood from her lungs. This indicated that she had severe lung damage and wouldn't have made it anyway.

At the hospital m wounds were taken care of. But i was in so much trauma I went into Premature labor. This was not fun and scared me and Vern. 7 hours later the contractions stopped, I was all doped up and we were headed home.

So when I say worst night of my life i meant it!!!!

Baby Update

I had another appointment last week. Alex is growing up to speed. Her brain is fully developed and continues to learn. Dr. Ponder is very confident that Alex will come full term and very healthy.

Alex grows bigger every day. She is such a wiggle worm but she's very stubborn like her father. She never moves when people want her too. She does however tell Vern good night by kicking his hand when he tells her night and that he loves her. She's gonna be a daddy's girl I think.

I'm 27 weeks right now and time just doesn't seam to be going by fast enough. My sister had her baby girl on fathers day and I'm super jealous. Time needs to speed up so I can hold my baby girl.

I have two baby showers dates already set. Aug 1st and Aug 29Th. I'm hoping to have my friends shower on Sept 5Th if Leslie can do it.

Keep you updated.

Cardiologist appointment

I finally had my appointment with the cardiologist. It was not a very fun visit. First they had to take an ultrasound of my heart. I had to lay in two positions, on my back and on my left side. Laying on my left side they have a part of the bed where it opens to get access to the left side of my chest. now being five months pregnant it was not very fun trying to hold up my torso while they did this. During this I was wearing an EKG monitor. I had tons of little probes all over my upper chest. The next test was the fun one... NOT. I had to walk on a treadmill. They needed to record my heart at 180 beats per min. It took about 20 min for my heart to get there. i was practically running at this point on a climb. It was horrible i felt sick and light headed. the sIecond hit 180 I had to get off. they told me to quickly lay back down on my left side so they could look at my heart again. It was not fun at all. I started getting hot flashes and a headache. After all this the doctor looked at my results and determined that I had no palpation's, no extra heart beats and no rhythmic problems. He concluded that I just have an excessively high heart rate due to all the changes my body is going through with the pregnancy. He told me to keep things slow, rest a lot and drink a lot.

The conclusion is I might have to quit my job. I need to do a lot of things at work that require a lot of my energy. The past month i haven't been able to do so. I feel I'm letting down my boss by not doing my job at the full extent that I need to. So I go and have a meeting with him tomorrow to figure out what we can do.

The upside of all of this mess is that my heart is just fine and I need not to worry. Yeah!!

High heart rate!

So I've had a high heart rate all day. I know your heart rate rises in your second trimester but 120 and 140 is a little high, actually its scary high.

I called my Cardiologist today to let him know but since i haven't actually been seen by him there's not much he can do. So they put me on the cancellation list for the week.

I'm really worried about it so I'm going in to see Dr. Ponder tomorrow morning to see if she has anything to add to it. I still have my Event Monitor on so I've been recording my heart all day and sending them in. I should know i a day or two if the readings have anything serious on them.

I just get to play the waiting game now... not fun. :(

Other then all my heart problems the baby seams to be doing good. She moves all the time so I'm not too concerned about it but I'll have to see what Dr. Ponder thinks tomorrow.
