The day is finally here
The morning of Aug 24th 2009 Little Alexis Marie decided to kick her way out into the world. My water Broke at 8:00 am. I quickly call Vern at work and told him the news. At first he didn't believe me, it took three times of telling him did he realize i was telling the truth.
It took him a half hour to get home. In the mean time I was in our bathroom sitting on the toilet letting all the amniotic fluid drain out. About ten minuets after my water had broke I started having very hard and painful contractions. I knew then that this was it, she was coming three in a half weeks early and there was nothing i could do about it.
Summer and Debbie helped me get things ready so that when Vern got home we would be able to leave right away.
The active labor contractions were tearfully painful. They kept getting worse with each one. We arrived at the hospital around 9:30am. After about 30 min of labor I was dilated to a 4 and 100% effaced. I was Prepped for an epidural and feeling no pain within 15 min.
Vern, His mom Debbie, his sister Summer, my mother, father, and sister were all in the room to watch the birth. Carissa video taped the whole thing and everyone else took pictures and enjoyed the very emotional and exciting event.
At 12:48 pm Alexis Marie Coggle was born and 5 lbs 8.5 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. She has My big blue eyes, nose, ears, and feet. She has Vern's lips, chin and torso.
She is the most beautiful and precious thing i have ever seen. I am so deeply and madly in love with her. Vern can't stop holding and kissing her. Who by the way had his mommy instincts kick in. He gave her her first bath without any hesitation and just got in there and got her all cleaned up. He's a pro. at changing her diaper. I didn't change one till late Monday night and it was only wet.
Vern and I are the happiest parents in the world and hope to share Alexis with everyone in a few weeks. Until then here are some pictures.
